The Groundhog Lied

We have a two hour late start today and snow is still coming down.  So much for an early spring.

We had a difficult time agreeing on a conclusion.  Mrs. Bauer's class thought since it was warmer than usual, we had early spring.  Mrs. Wiersma's class thought it was still cold enough to be winter weather.

Last evening the temperatures dropped suddenly and as Mrs. Bauer's family went out to a play we had snow and hail pour on us.  This definitely is winter weather.

Pictures of Blizzard Nemo

Our weather friends in Paramus, N. J. sent us some pictures from the blizzard that hit there.  This snow sculpture is colored with Tang and food coloring.  Many people stopped by to take pictures and "Nemo" was featured on the Weather Channel.

Look how high this snow drift is on this building.

This shows how many inches of snow fell by midnight Friday February 8.
